Degree Requirements
Undergraduates
- To meet the graduation requirement, students are required to complete at least 128 credit hours, which include 82 required credit hours, 46 elective credit hours with a minimum of 31 credit hours of elective courses offered by the program.
- In addition to the program graduation requirement, students are required to complete the university graduation requirement for English and Information proficiency. For more information, please refer to the university graduation regulations.
- Before graduation, each student should complete Academic Research Ethics Education Course, which is 6 hours required course with 0 credit.
- In 2012, the Curriculum Committee approved the Liberal Arts and General Education courses offered by the College of General Education are 2 credits and 2 hours or 3 credits and 3 hours.
- Professional Elective Courses should be courses offered by the program or approved by the program. No more than One-Third of the elective course credithours can be transferred from other programs.
- Professional Internship in the 3rd Year of the degree plan is an one academic year course with a total of 8 courses and 24 credit hours.
- To meet the program graduation requirement, students are required to obtain two professional certificates/licenses during their studies.
- To meet the program graduate requirement, students are required to select an emphasis and complete the necessary coursework:
- Tourism Management Emphasis: students are required to 1. take four courses in the following seven: "Tour Guide and Group Leader Practice", "Tourism", "Travel Ticketing System", "Tourism Japanese", "Travel Agency Practice and Management", "Eco Park Tour Guide ", "Foreign Language Tour Guiding and Operating Communicative Skills"; 2. complete Project Study I and Project Study II (total 6 credit hours) in the field of Tourism Management; 3. participate in 4 Tourism Management related special lectures/seminars/workshops; 4. obtain 1 Tourism Management related professional certificate.
- Sport Management Emphasis: students are required to 1. take four courses in the following seven: "Sports Training", "Fitness Club Management and Operation (I)", "Self Defense", "Athletic Massage", "Sports Industry and Tourism", "Health Management ", "International Fitness Industry Training and Terminology"; 2. Complete Project Study I and Project Study II (total 6 credit hours) in the field of Sport Management; 3. participate in 4 Sport Management related special lectures/seminars/workshops; 4. obtain 1 Sport Management related professional certificate.
- Students need to take the required course titled “Digital Technology and Applications in Life “offered by Liberal Education Center.
Graduate students
- To meet the graduation requirement, students are required to complete at least 35 credit hours, which include 17 required credits hours (6 credits hours for Thesis and 2 credit hours for Seminar) and 18 core professional elective credit hours.
- Students are required to complete a minimum 12 credit hours of elective courses offered by the program.
- To meet the graduation requirement, students are required to obtain one core certificate/license approved by the program. In addition, students are required to pass the English proficiency test (minimum of TOEIC 550 or equivalent) or complete 3 credit hours of English related courses approved by the graduate program with a minimum 70 points passing grade.
- Before graduation, each student should complete Academic Research Ethics Education Course, which is 6 hours required course with 0 credit.
- Prerequisite course qualification: students who take the prerequisite courses are required to make up the following courses in the undergraduate program: Management, Tourism, and Health Management. The passing grade is 70 points. The make-up courses are not recognized as graduate program credits.
